01

What a customer rewards platform should provide

A customer rewards platform brings the technology, reward catalogue and operational processes needed to offer ongoing value to customers. It should do more than display discounts. Customers need a clear journey from discovering an offer to receiving the benefit, while the business needs reliable reporting and commercial visibility.

Spendstream brings together instant digital gift cards, tracked cashback and affiliate-funded offers. The result is a broader proposition than a single gift card catalogue or a collection of affiliate links.

02

One platform, different ways to save

Digital gift cards can create an immediate saving or another agreed reward at the point of purchase. Cashback offers extend coverage across thousands of online merchants where a gift card may not be available. Used together, they allow customers to choose the route that fits the purchase they already intend to make.

The core platform covers around 200 gift card brands and more than 4,000 affiliate merchants. Rates and availability change, so the catalogue is managed rather than presented as a fixed promise.

03

White-label or embedded in your product

The white-label platform is the quickest route to a complete branded service. Spendstream supplies the front end, merchant listings, redemption journeys and ongoing improvements. Your organisation provides its brand, customer proposition and access rules.

The API route is designed for businesses that want rewards to sit directly inside an existing app or digital experience. Your developers build the interface while Spendstream provides the reward infrastructure behind it.

04

How the commercial model works

Eligible customer activity generates merchant commission. Depending on the programme, some of that value may be used to fund the customer reward and the remaining Net Commission can be shared between Spendstream and the client under the agreed plan.

This gives businesses a way to add customer value while creating a new commercial line. The exact outcome depends on active users, transaction frequency, basket size, merchant rates and how much value is returned to customers. See current Spendstream pricing and commission shares for the plan structure.

05

What Spendstream manages

A rewards programme creates operational work that is easy to underestimate: catalogue changes, supplier relationships, tracking, fulfilment issues, fraud controls, reconciliation and reporting. Spendstream manages that layer so the client does not need to become a rewards-technology operator.

The service is distinct from consulting or a standalone software licence. It combines the platform with the ongoing work required to keep a multi-merchant proposition usable.

06

Choosing a platform

Assess providers against the experience customers receive and the work your team retains. Ask which reward types are included, who owns supplier updates, how failed transactions are handled, what reporting is available and how quickly the experience can change after launch.

The white-label versus building guide helps teams compare the full cost and ownership implications rather than focusing only on the headline platform fee.
